Press release on the case of Tauriq Sharif
Despite reports on social media Tauriq Sharif has never been part of or worked with the White Helmets.

Over the past two days social media accounts have been sharing and discussing the case of Tauriq Sharif, a dual British-Pakistani national, residing in Idlib.
In one of the pictures circulating on social media the individual appears alongside the logo of the Syria Civil Defence (SCD).
The SCD would like to state that Tauriq Sharif has never worked with or volunteered with the SCD. Furthermore, our internal regulations clearly state that only Syrian nationals are accepted as SCD volunteers.
The creation and circulation of such bogus posts are intended to systematically spread disinformation and are part of an ongoing disformation campaign to smear the operations and independence of the SCD.
We would like to reiterate that such efforts are intended to damage our ability to provide services to civilians. However, nothing will stop our teams from providing lifesaving services to our fellow Syrians.
Our work supporting our communities in every area we can reach will not halt and we remain continuing to be the helping hand and soothing force amidst the never, ending attacks.
